The types of wedding ceremonies to be performed are almost endless -- especially as wedding events have become far more relaxed (and genuinely FUN) in recent years. Once you have reflected on what style of wedding you want, it’s time to start thinking about your Ceremony Style. To help you along, the following briefly describes just some of the more popular types of ceremonies.
Wedding Ceremonies Heartfelt This is probably the most popular of ceremonies. It has no spiritual aspects, but rather is warm, personal and from the heart — reflecting the love that you share for one another. Spiritual But Not Religious Whether you are from different religious backgrounds or simply consider yourselves “spiritual” but not religious, this ceremony reflects your love for one another in a spiritual manner, frequently including prayers and other traditions. Interfaith This ceremony style incorporates traditions from both of your religious backgrounds and respectfully blends facets of both. Traditional/Religious Ceremony For those who still believe in their religion(s), but for one reason or another do not wish to be married in a church or synagogue, this ceremony includes many aspects and blessings that are traditional in a religious wedding. Civil This type of ceremony is similar to Heartfelt, but is generally quite a bit shorter. Renewal of Vows To mark a special anniversary or other occasion in a marriage, you may want to renew your vows as a married couple. We will work together to design joyful, heartfelt and beautiful vows of any style. Commitment Ceremony The process for this type of ceremony is the same as all wedding ceremonies and can reflect many of the nuances as described above. Same Sex Unions See Marriage Equality. Except for a few nuances you may desire, Ceremony Styles are the same — no matter your gender. |
